Anderson Swim Meet

Ughhhhh......
an early morning was this.... MariAustin's got to find another sport that doesn't require being up a 5 am!

We set out last Sat. (EARLY) for the Anderson Swim meet. We arrived to check the schedule and my stomach immediately started doing flip flops...My child---my little 5 year old baby was in 6 events. This was an obvious jump from the 2 she was previously in. She had been added to several relay teams...And to top it off...she was in a 100 Meter IM....for those not familiar with swim...that is a lap of doing all 4 strokes. Now let me remind you, MariAustin just learned how to really swim this past July. Sure she's been paddling around for sevearl summers, but not REALLY swim to my comfort level this summer.

On top of that, she is in a category with 8 year olds! I am physically sick on my stomach and an emotional wreck. No kidding. I was so nervous for her! She however, was super excited and ready for it!

She loves the fact that they write with markers on their arms. Here you can see Aunt Cathy writing the races on their arms.

At the first meet, several of the kids wrote down their arms and backs. So of course, we had to join the crowd. This is all I would allow! (It says Barracudas--the name of their team)
Swim cousins!

Waiting on her first race. She knows when they blow the whistle, she hops in and prepares for the backstroke..
The girls won one of their relays and in addition to a ribbon, they got a free frosty at Wendy's. Of course, this was the more prized possesion!

I was super proud of MariAustin! She has improved so much and it just makes her little mommy so proud!!!!
